The
members of
the Class of ’66 will celebrate our 60th Birthday on Saturday, October 11, 2008
at the
Holiday Inn Select in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Whether you’ll be 58 or 59 this year or even
61 or 62, it doesn’t matter - we’re pretending that ALL of us will be
60 this
year - just so we can have a party!!
Did
you know that
our Class has the reputation for being the “partying-est Class”? We like seeing our classmates so much that we
have a Reunion every 5 years!
Plus, we try keep the cost down so that money
should not be a problem for our classmates AND we pick good
bands to
entertain us (ever hear of the Restless Ribbon Band?!?).
In addition to the Reunions, we’ve had a 40th
Birthday, a 50th Birthday and now a 60th Birthday
Party.
Party
Registration information will be sent out in June, so be looking for
yours! Once we send out the information,
we will update our web site with all the details you’ll need to know so
you can
tell us you’re going to celebrate your birthday with us.
The cost to attend? Only $35 per
person.
Since
you’re
reading this, you probably have an email addess. If
you have not been receiving group emails
from Kay (Hardin) Rhodes, please send her your
email
address and help us save postage. When
Kay sends out a group email, members of the group do not see any of the
other
email addresses. She does not send
forwards-of-forwards type emails, no “you just gotta read this and pass
it on
or you’ll be doomed” emails, no funny pictures, no great jokes - just
information that relates to the Class of ’66.
We
will, for the first time, be sending
Registration information via email. When
you send your email address to Kay, be sure and let her know if your
email will
handle attachments. We will not be
sending pictures, but the Registration info will be sent as attachments
- in
PDF format so that anyone can open the files without having to buy any
special
software.
Included
in the
Registration information, you will have an opportunity to order the
following
from our 40-Year Reunion. Now
that we’ve finally entered the 21st
Century, each time we have a Reunion we’ll be
adding to
the list of available items.
1
Memories
DVD - contains our slide show (pictures from previous Reunions) plus
videos
from our 20-, 25- and 30-Year Reunions.
2
Book
of Memories - our 40-Year Reunion Yearbook on
CD (PDF
format). Sorry, due to the cost of
printing, we have no printed copies left.
3
A
current Classmate Directory
on CD (PDF format) - reconnect and stay in touch with your classmates! This will continuously be updated, so you may
order new Directory CD’s as often as you want after the Birthday Party. A home-printed copy will be available at a
much higher price than the CD.

Pictures
from our 40-Year Reunion (on CD) taken by Marc
Schuman. See how gracefully we’ve all
aged!
Be sure to check
out our Lost/Missing Classmates page to see if there is anyone on the
list that
you can help us locate. Even if you
don’t know their current location, if you can give us leads (sibling or
parent
names, last known job, spouse’s name, anything) we can take it from
there. Current information would be
fantastic!!
One
thing that
has been difficult for all of us is the growing Deceased List. We’ve posted the names and known dates of
death on the Deceased Classmates page.
If you know of a classmate who has died and is not on our list,
send the
information to Kay (Hardin) Rhodes. Please give her as much detail as possible,
especially
the date and cause of death. A newspaper
write-up or a handout from the funeral service would be greatly
appreciated. If you’d rather not send
the original, a photocopy will be fine.
In
addition to
missing classmates and deceased classmates web pages, we have a Junior
High
page and a Veteran’s page.
The
Junior High
page will have group pictures taken at various Reunions.
We will also post 9th grade group
pictures for those schools who did not have yearbooks.
The home page will list where each CHS ’66
classmate attended Junior High school.
While most students in our day lived in the same neighborhood
for years,
some students were able to attend two or even three Junior Highs. Come back soon and check out this list and let
us know if we do
not have you listed. Also, let us know
your Junior High school colors and the team name, such as “Central
Braves”.
The
Veteran’s
page has a group picture taken at our 40-Year Reunion in 2006
plus
pictures of our three classmates who died in Vietnam.
Check out who has served our Country.
If
this is the
first you’ve heard about a Birthday Party, that probably means that we
do not
have your current mailing address, etc.
Contact Kay today and make sure your information is updated in
our
records. If you would like to be a part
of the Committee, contact Francine (Poulos) Shawger to learn how you
can help.
See
you October
11!!!
